A very long time ago, there was nothing at all. No sun. No sky. No you. No me.
Narada
Nothing? Not even water? Not even air? How can there be... nothing?
Nothing? Really? Not even water?
Narrator
That is the great mystery! But within that darkness, something was waiting to awaken.
But inside all that darkness, something special was hiding!
Page 2 — The First Sound
Narrator
Then, from the great silence, came a sound. The first sound ever. A vibration that shook the emptiness itself. That sound was... OM.
Then a sound came! The first ever sound. It went OMMMMM! And everything started to shake!
Narada
One sound created everything? That must have been a very powerful sound!
Wow! Just one sound did all that?
Narrator
Indeed! From that sacred vibration, a golden egg appeared — the Hiranyagarbha, the golden womb of the universe. Inside it, all of creation waited to be born.
Yes! And that sound made a big golden egg appear. Everything was inside that egg!
Page 3 — Brahma Awakens
Narrator
The golden egg opened, and from it arose Lord Brahma — the Creator! He sat upon a beautiful lotus flower, and he had four faces, each looking in a different direction.
The egg opened! Out came Lord Brahma, sitting on a pretty lotus flower. He had four faces!
Narada
Four faces! Why does Brahma Ji have four faces? That is so unusual!
Four faces? Why four?
Brahma
Each of my faces looks toward one direction — East, South, West, and North. I see all of creation, in every direction, at all times.
I look in all four directions! East, South, West, and North. I can see everything!
Page 4 — The Four Vedas Are Born! ✨
Brahma · East
From my Eastern face, I speak the Rigveda — hymns of praise and knowledge of the divine. The oldest words in creation!
From this face comes the Rigveda! Beautiful songs about the gods!
Brahma · South
From my Southern face flows the Yajurveda — the knowledge of sacred rituals that keep the universe in balance.
This face gives the Yajurveda! It teaches how to do special prayers!
Brahma · West
From my Western face, the Samaveda sings itself into being — the Veda of melody!
This face sings the Samaveda! The same prayers, but as music!
Brahma · North
And from my Northern face comes the Atharvaveda — knowledge for daily life! Medicine, science, and the secrets of nature.
And this face gives the Atharvaveda! It knows about plants, medicine, and nature!
Page 5 — Knowledge Spreads
Narrator
Brahma Ji shared this divine knowledge with the great Rishis — wise sages who could hear truth through deep meditation. They heard the Vedas in their hearts!
Brahma told the wise sages all about the Vedas. They listened carefully with their hearts!
Narrator
The Rishis taught the Vedas to their students, who taught their students... for thousands of years! Every word remembered perfectly.
Then the sages taught the children, who grew up and taught more children! For many, many years!
Narrator
Finally, the great sage Vedavyasa organized all four Vedas and wrote them down forever. Vyasa means "the one who organized!"
A very wise man called Vedavyasa wrote everything down so nobody would forget!
Page 6 — Why Does It Matter?
Narada
So these same Vedas that Brahma spoke... people still read them today? After thousands of years?
People still read the Vedas today? Even now?
Narrator
Yes! The mantras your family chants during puja, the shlokas at the temple — they all come from the Vedas! The oldest living knowledge on Earth.
Yes! When your family prays or goes to the temple, those words come from the Vedas!
Brahma
Remember, children — the Vedas are the sound of creation itself! Every time you chant OM, you connect with the very first sound of the universe.
Remember! When you say OM, you are saying the very first word ever! The sound that made everything!
